Write for us

The Open Way welcomes thoughtful proposals about the practical experience of everyday cycling. A strong pitch has a clear reader in mind, a distinct subject, and enough useful detail to show what the finished piece would help someone understand.

What we welcome

We are interested in accessible, original contributions about choosing a bicycle, preparing for ordinary rides, navigating everyday routes, caring for a bike, useful gear, and fitting cycling into daily life. A pitch should offer a focused angle rather than a broad promise to cover everything about a subject.

Make the pitch specific

Explain the proposed title or subject, who would find it useful, what questions it would answer, and why your approach is distinctive. Mention any relevant experience or sources you expect to draw on, and flag limitations or potential conflicts of interest. Do not send private or sensitive information as part of an initial proposal.

How to send an idea

Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option, then make clear that your message is a story pitch. Please do not submit a finished article unless it has been requested. A submission is a proposal, not a promise of publication.
